Early in 2012, my friend Cindy and I sat on a bench on the banks of the Crocodile River in South Africa and I dissolved into tears. I was experiencing the indescribable joy of my life starting over. It was the beginning of life after Lyme disease, it was the beginning of life without old emotional baggage, and it was better than I could have imagined possible.
